At Local 557, we advocate for firefighters’ rights and welfare. Our mission includes support through advocacy, health programs, advanced training, and safety measures, ensuring our members are prepared and protected to serve their communities effectively.
To establish and maintain better working conditions, to defend the rights and advance the interest of Fire Fighters and related positions, including the areas of education and training, to create an authority whose seal shall constitute a certificate of character, intelligence, and skill to encourage the principal and practice of conciliation and arbitration in the settlements of difference between the Baton Rouge Association of Fire Fighters Union, Local 557, I.A.F.F., the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
